Nicole Hamilton

Founder, Simpler Math

Nicole Hamilton is the founder of Simpler Math and creator of Real World Statistics: A Student's Guide to Understanding and Using Data, a complete high school and introductory college statistics curriculum designed to help students move beyond learning statistical procedures and toward thinking like statisticians.

She is an educator, instructional designer, and educational leader with more than 20 years of experience teaching mathematics, designing curriculum, and leading innovation in schools, including service as Associate Head of School and Dean of Faculty.

Throughout her career, she has focused on a central question: How can we design learning experiences that help more students engage with meaningful, challenging ideas?

She develops and shares curriculum resources, instructional systems, and educational frameworks through Simpler Math, combining clear explanations, authentic applications, and intentional supports to improve how students learn and how educators work.

Her work includes classroom teaching, mathematics department leadership, online learning development, faculty professional growth, and the creation of digital learning resources used by students and educators.

Nicole has taught mathematics across a wide range of settings, including public schools, independent schools, online education programs, and college-preparatory environments. She holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Vassar College and an M.A. in Secondary Mathematics Education from City College of New York.

She partners with schools and educators through curriculum design, professional learning, and framework development to create more meaningful, accessible, and effective learning experiences.
